If you follow me on Twitter, you must know by now of my love for my Marley headphones. I use them for everything…
@socamomdc Oh no! Gotta love the noise-canceling technology 🙂

There is so much to love about these headphones from the recycled packaging materials to the FSC certified wood they are made from. My favorite thing about them is how they fit in my little ears.. and that they are cute… and unless my kids are screaming or something (which I would need to hear, right?) – I can only hear my music or my movie. When I put them in, it is like a little mini vacation, or carnival fete – depending on what I am listening to.
I had some earphones that I was using, that drove me nuts because they kept falling out. Big ears or small ears, you’re covered. The in ear phones come with 3 sizes of eartips. The in-ear ones range from $29.99 to $99.99, and can be purchased on HouseofMarley.com. The on ear headphones range in price from $59.99 to $199.99, and the over the ear headphones are $299.99.
These are on my WISH LIST! Source: thehouseofmarley.com via Eva on Pinterest
I use headphones a lot – and I have gotten spoiled ever since I started using these People Get Ready In Ear Earphones.
If I didn’t have to switch back and forth between my Marley headphones for listening and my USB headset for recording, and again my headphones for using my phone hands-free (the law in DC and MD) – that would be AWESOME. Come to find out – I don’t have to! In certain models, there is a mic… oh yeah… I said it… a mic.
Here are the top five things I use my Marley headphones for…
- Drowning out my husband’s snoring.
- Listening to my Krosfyah station on Pandora.
- Avoiding having to hear the insipid songs that come with the kids’ video games. Whoever composes that epic, repetitive awfulness then loops it hates me. I feel like it is personal.
- Taking the train to NYC – Amtrak has wi fi, so I either watch Netflix if the connection holds up.
- Listening to my soca CD’s while I read blogs… yes people – I really love soca.
Here are the blogs I checked out before 10… PM this time!
http://www.glamnolabelz.com/ – @glamnolabelz on Twitter – I visited her blog and had no idea she was a BLM blogger! I have an affinity for nail polish. I was a licensed nail tech in a former life, and actually became an instructor for a time. Yeah, I know – you wouldn’t know it from the looks of my cuticles in my pics, but I used to do nails for a living. She has a review of some of my favorite polish brands, Orly. Head on over and see what she has to say…
http://frizzyfro.com/ and http://wordyless.com/ – @daniellejme on Twitter – Another one of my favorite bloggers. Saw her this year at Blogging While Brown in Philly AND BlogHer in NYC. Cool as a fan, and takes some fabulous photographs. Here is her Blogging While Brown recap video. Not sure how I missed this, but I made it into her highlight reel! Just glad my fro was actin’ right. Can’t wait to see her again… go on over to her blogs – I gave you two for one here – and become a fan like moi!
http://www.marlinpage.com/ – @chieftechmommy on Twitter – If you are a parent whose kids are online, this is a great resource for you. I met her at Blogging While Brown in Philadelphia. My kids aren’t on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr… any of that. I know it won’t be that way forever. I feel like for teens who are already in the middle of finding out who they are, having the entire world be able to get online and critique them – and worse – bully them, is just unnatural. One bully, in school, that I can understand – not good either, but I understand it. Now they have tools to take the bullying to a whole new level, and kids can take their bully with them wherever they go via facebook, Twitter, etc. – and it is further enhanced with tools like Photoshop… yay.
http://hireshai.com/ – @shaiunfiltered on Twitter – Today, I am including one of my favorite peeps and fellow blerd. I met her at Blogalicious 2011, and we have been cool ever since. I was a virtual assistant about 10 years ago, and loved it. It was pretty new, and I got some great jobs out the gate. The field wasn’t that competitive yet, but now, apparently, you have to have some serious skills to make it. I was working before Youtube, Twitter, and the Facebook as we know it now with company pages, etc. If you are thinking about working from home as a virtual assistant, see if you can answer the questions she has for you.
http://deannawharwood.com/ – @veteranscoach on Twitter – I checked out this new Twitter follower (I told you I visit every single blogger I follow… every one.) Talk about finding a niche! Now, I knew that being a veteran could have its advantages, but I am pretty sure that a lot of veterans aren’t talking full advantage of the opportunities that are available to them as small business owners. If you are a veteran, or if you have friends or family members who are thinking about exiting the military and returning to civilian life, check out her site for tips on how to start your own business.
http://caribbeancelebs.com/ – @caribbeanceleb on Twitter – I saw Wyclef on Piers Morgan promoting his book (I think that is where just about EVERYONE who has a book coming out goes these days to plug it), and after reading the latest story on this Caribbean Entertainment news site… it has me giving him the side eye. How far will someone go for publicity? I also want to know if he is actually visually impaired or if he started wearing glasses because he is a writer now. That is another question I ask myself about Kim Kardashian when I see her with glasses. Then I go on to wonder if I look smarter when I am wearing my glasses… My mind wanders a lot.
http://themidlifesecondwife.com/ – @midlifetowife on Twitter – I met this blogger at BlogHer 2012 – we sat at the same table. When I am over 50, I plan to be healthy and fabulous. That’s it. There really is nothing else you can plan for. You can’t plan for divorce, you can’t plan for cancer, all you can do is plan for how you will deal with what God gifts you and life throws at you. This blog shows you how Marci does it – with lots of good food (you know I love good food). Check her out and tell her SocaMom sent you!
http://babyfruit.typepad.com/baby/ – @alizasherman on Twitter – I remember telling my kids that they could spray their hair various colors while on vacation. I think they had a meeting, decided that their conservative Mommy had lost her mind, discounted it as momentary insanity, and never reminded me that I had said anything about it. Either that, or I have raised equally conservative children… Okay, the conservative children thing – maybe one of them. I think the other two just went with, “Mommy is nuts today – she doesn’t mean that.” This blogger actually went through with it and took her daughter to get red streaks in her hair. Check out her blog and see how it turned out!
http://www.scarymommy.com/ – @scarymommy on Twitter – So much to read… so little time! She’s the author of a NY Times best selling book – Confessions of a Scary Mommy, and the blog is pretty darn funny. She writes all the stuff that the rest of us would like to be totally honest about, but can’t. With the permanent nature of the internet thanks to Google, and my oldest being so few years away from college applications, and no best selling book to pay for it (yet) – I’ll let her do it. The world has to know what mom’s go through… the story must be told! Check her out for a good laugh…
http://www.thechattymomma.com/ – @thechattymomma on Twitter – I can’t remember where I met her… All I know is that I see her all over the place. Most of the time she is ripping and running. The last time I saw her was on the run again at BlogHer 12 in NYC. She has a pretty neat post about egg dying up right now… beyond easter. I don’t do egg dying or any of that stuff during Easter, so for us, I guess now is as good a time as any!

I received a set of earphones from House of Marley to review. I have had them for a couple of months, and have based my opinion on my daily use of the product – that is the only way I am able to give you a complete and honest review. As always, the opinions are my own. For more information, click on “About”.
