So you’re looking for Caribbean baby names! Maybe you are expecting a little one, planning ahead, or just like finding your name on lists, since you may not be able to find them on a key chain at the gift shop.
It is no secret that growing up and as a young adult I never planned to have kids. Now I can’t imagine myself without them. From the time I saw two lines on the pregnancy test, I agonized over everything from bedding to formula to outfits to lotions and creams, and of course, baby names.
When I was pregnant with my first child, it was the early days of the internet, and the BabyCenter was new. I got weekly emails about the baby’s progress, and searched for names and their meanings. I settled on a sort of variation of my name as his first name. His first name isn’t on this list, but his two middle names are.
This list mixes some of the old school popular names with the newer names, so you have a good variety to choose from. The old school names are very British sounding because of the colonization of many of the islands. Some names may be more popular in some countries and not others.
Happy searching!

Did you find your name? If there is a name that you hear a lot (like if you are a teacher in the Caribbean and your classroom has a Shanetta R., Shanetta B., and Shanetta L.) that isn’t listed here, put it in the comments so that I can add it.
