Podcast interview with Kerry of Carry on Friends on creating a healthy work/life/family balance.
Eva Wilson’s notes from the podcast:
Prioritize. Start with what is REALLY most important in your life and put that on your calendar or list first. If talking with your kids is important, and at the end of the day you are too tired to have a good conversation, get up an hour early and have tea with them. Put on an exercise video or something and stretch together. If spending time with your husband is important, but the laundry is piling up, fold it together. Folding sheets is a great time to get a kiss or two in. When you are at work, work. Stay off of facebook or whatever is taking up your time, and get the work done so that it doesn’t come home with you. I don’t mean the actual work, but the worrying and the guilt over the work that you didn’t get done. That can change your whole mood, and interfere with the quality time that you are planning to have with the family at dinner or your kid’s recital, or sporting event.
