This is Li’l Bit.<\/strong>\u00a0 She’s outgrown my blog, and she has her own video series in the works, but in the meantime, this is how we celebrated National Lipstick Day. We didn’t make it to Kiddies Carnival in Toronto, so we just had to play around in bright makeup at home!<\/p>\n

She loves all things fashionable… army jackets… trucker hats… glitter… She also loves lip gloss and lipstick. I can’t wait until she plays mas at Kiddies Carnival – all that glitter and makeup- she just might implode.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a trip to Sephora in Los Angeles a few months ago, she was ready for National Liptsick Day.<\/p>\n

\"National<\/a><\/p>\n

This kid is always on.<\/strong> Even though we don’t do makeup outside of the house unless it is a dance recital or other performance, she loves putting it on at home and being the star of her own show.<\/p>\n

\"National<\/a><\/p>\n

With Eden, we have rules. No “real” colors. No red, no pink… only the most fun colors.<\/strong> The loudest. The most out of the ordinary. It is just for fun. She’s still a little young (to me) for more than a clear lip gloss or chapstick if we are going out. She snagged some of that from Sephora too.<\/p>\n

Growing up, my parents didn’t have any real rules about wearing makeup.<\/strong> My mom bought me Tinkerbell at the counter at JB White’s when I was little, and I had various glitter nail polishes. My face was gloriously painted for dance recitals and pageants using cheap drug store makeup (Artmatic… predecessor to Wet n’ Wild).<\/p>\n

She had cleaned it off so that we could go get doughnuts, but promptly changed her shirt and put a new color on to finish celebrating National Lipstick Day.<\/p>\n

\"National<\/a><\/p>\n

I hope\u00a0that when she gets older, and begins to want to wear makeup outside of the house, she will use the same philosophy that we use around here. Everything in moderation… like doughnuts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"National<\/a><\/p>\n

I want her to have fun and be comfortable doing what she likes, but also know when things are appropriate and when they aren’t.<\/p>\n

\"National<\/a><\/p>\n

At eleven, rainbow braids are what we consider appropriate for her age, stage, and… well… she doesn’t exactly have a job to go to.<\/p>\n

Heading the library, she tried to rush to the car and evade the lipstick police (AKA, me) and get out the\u00a0house with a blue mouth. No ma’am.<\/strong> She got the wipes that she has in her dance bag for removing makeup, and cleaned it off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"National<\/p>\n

She wiped it off, but\u00a0not before taking a few selfies for her Instagram<\/a> and Facebook <\/a>pages. \u00a0She has a fun Youtube show<\/a> in the works, and would love it if you would like her Facebook page, subscribe to her Youtube channel,<\/a> and follow her on Instagram<\/a> and Twitter<\/a>. \u00a0That way you can be the first to know when a new video is ready for watching and sharing!\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n
