{"id":3137,"date":"2012-12-17T20:38:12","date_gmt":"2012-12-17T20:38:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/making-qgingerbreadq-houses\/"},"modified":"2023-09-04T21:34:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T03:34:09","slug":"making-qgingerbreadq-houses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/making-qgingerbreadq-houses\/","title":{"rendered":"Making &#8220;Gingerbread&#8221; Houses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The little ones were looking forward to face to face today so that they could make gingerbread houses.<\/strong> No big kit&#8230; no gingerbread&#8230; just some graham crackers, candy, an empty milk carton, and their imaginations.<\/p>\n<p>The kids were so creative! \u00a0I saw everything from gingerbread farms (which apparently raise gummy bears of various colors) to full on wedding processions in snow crafted out of white frosting. \u00a0Mine stuck to just building nice affordable housing&#8230; and eating their building materials.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-3135\" src=\"http:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/house_socamom_2.jpg\" border=\"0\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/house_socamom_2.jpg 400w, https:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/house_socamom_2-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/house_socamom_2-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/socamom.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/house_socamom_2-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what they used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>frosting<\/li>\n<li>paper plates<\/li>\n<li>empty milk carton<\/li>\n<li>graham crackers<\/li>\n<li>pretzels<\/li>\n<li>marshmallows<\/li>\n<li>plastic knife<\/li>\n<li>candy canes and various other colorful candy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The classroom was packed with little gingerbread architects working and proud moms and dads snapping pictures.
