Oh my gosh!\u201d So were the kids. \u201cOh wow, Mommy! It\u2019s beautiful!\u201d The hubby tried to catch it all on film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSign mine first!\u201d squealed Baby Girl.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo mine,\u201d responded my oldest. \u201cI was here first. I\u2019m her FIRST child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAllyuh move aside! I\u2019m gettin\u2019 mine signed furs!\u201d That was my mom. She meant that.<\/p>\n<p>They lined up in front of me, and I sat on the couch \u2013 I signed one for each of them, while the hubby caught it all.\u00a0 The two youngest ran off to read it, Ma made a list of the copies she\u2019d need to take to St. Vincent with her, and my oldest just sat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m jealous,\u201d he announced. \u00a0\u201cYou beat me to it, but I\u2019ll get my book too \u2013 you just watch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know how old I am? You have plenty of time \u2013 especially since you are starting now.\u00a0 You will beat me \u2013 by the time you are my age, you definitely will be way past your FIRST book.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh yeeeeaaaaahhhh,\u201d he said, calculating his age and making plans. \u201cI do have a head start, don\u2019t I?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>As a business woman and a mom, there is nothing more satisfying to me than inspiring my children to follow their passions, and make a living doing something that they love. <\/strong> We don\u2019t realize how much our kids compare themselves to us \u2013 not just our physical features or personalities, but our ambitions, goals, occupations, and accomplishments.<\/p>\n<p>The day I got my first copies of Anancy\u2019s Family Reunion in the mail, I didn\u2019t make a dime \u2013 but I was able to show my kids that anything is possible.\u00a0 The day that seed of entrepreneurship was planted in my kids was my best business day ever.<\/p>\n<p>This post was written as part of the #Blog4Biz Challenge hosted by Shai from HireShai.com and FleurManagement.com.
