I\u2019m willing to bet that there\u2019s not a blogger out there who isn\u2019t trying to take their blog to the \u201cnext level\u201d.<\/strong> Most have no idea what that means, or even looks like \u2013 but they know they need and want to get there, and get there sooner rather than later.\u00a0 I can\u2019t say that I know what it looks like for me either.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t deliberately do anything with the purpose of taking my blog to the \u201cnext level\u201d. <\/strong> I just do what I do, and realize that I have moved from one place in my blogging to another.\u00a0 Those shifts aren\u2019t always movements that my readers can see, but they happen.\u00a0 Sometimes they are shifts in the way I am thinking about my blog, or small changes in the way that I approach opportunities.\u00a0 Getting to that \u201cnext level\u201d for me, often involves making a series of small moves and changes as part of a slow climb, then settling on a plateau for a moment \u2013 a \u201cstep\u201d \u2013 to rest before I get going on the next series of actions that I have planned.<\/p>\n

Problem is \u2013 I very rarely rest.<\/strong> I am uncomfortable with rest.\u00a0 I feel that I have a lot of topics, news, products, events, and information to share with my readers.\u00a0 I take my job as a blogger very seriously.\u00a0 These days, people rely on blogs for their decision making, advice, news, tutorials, and more, and I want people who come to my blogs to get certain information to get that, and then some.<\/p>\n

On SocaMom.com, my goal is to be able to be a resource for Caribbean parents to connect their children to Caribbean culture. <\/strong> Once I added the activity pages and educational downloads, I rested on a plateau for a while.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t stop working when I reached that next level or \u201cstep\u201d \u2013 no rest \u2013 I just adjusted to working at that level.\u00a0 I had moved from information provider and blogger to educational resource, and I had to adjust to my daily activities, and my thinking because of that move.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure what my next \u201cnext level\u201d will be, but what I am sure of is that I won\u2019t ever be finished climbing.<\/strong> I think I will have truly reached that ultimate \u201cnext level\u201d when I stop thinking about it as a destination, but as a stop along the way in my journey to becoming the best blogger, author, Caribbean culture educator, wife, mom, and homeschooler that I can be.\u00a0 I truly enjoy what I do, and I can\u2019t wait to see what\u2019s next.<\/p>\n
