\"Baggage<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I was invited to see an advance screening of Baggage Claim<\/a> by the wonderful folks over at Liquid Soul Media.\u00a0 Guyanese American Derek Luke was scheduled to attend the Baltimore screening with writer, producer, and director, David E. Talbert, but there was a change of plans.\u00a0 Wouldn’t THAT have been awesome?\u00a0 So you know I try to give you the full run down on movies including the Caribbean cast to look out for, so here we go\u2026 make sure your seatbelts are fastened, your tray tables are secure, and your seat is in its upright position. Leh we go!<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t entirely sure what to expect.<\/strong> I had just seen one of David E. Talbert\u2019s plays on BET, and I remember thinking\u2026. Uh oh, Tyler Perry.\u00a0 Mr. Talbert is coming for your wig. Determined to get engaged before her youngest sister’s wedding, flight attendant Montana Moore (Paula Patton) finds herself with only 30 days to find Mr. Right. Using her airline connections to “accidentally” meet up with eligible ex-boyfriends and scour for potential candidates, she racks up more than 30,000 miles and countless comedic encounters, all the while searching for the perfect guy.<\/em><\/p>\n

Christina Milian<\/strong>, the girlfriend of Derek Luke in Baggage Claim, was born in America, and her parents are from Cuba<\/a>.\u00a0 She definitely embraces her Caribbean roots<\/a>.\u00a0 You can see that in her cover and multi page feature with her baby girl in b3 Caribbean Magazine from last year.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Derek<\/p>\n

Derek Luke<\/strong> stars in Baggage Claim as William Wright.\u00a0 He was born in America, and his dad is from Georgetown, Guyana<\/a>.\u00a0 He has starred in several feature films including Antwone Fisher, Friday Night, Miracle at St. Anna, and Captain America.<\/p>\n

La La Anthony<\/strong>, who plays the role of \u2018helpful\u2019 Tanya in Baggage Claim was born in America to Puerto Rican<\/a> parents. She has become the princess of MTV hosting gigs, a radio regular, and currently stars in her own reality show, La La\u2019s Full Court Life about her life as a working mom and wife of NBA player Carmelo Anthony.<\/p>\n

\"Tia<\/p>\n

Tia Mowry Hardrict<\/strong> was born in Germany, and mother is Bahamian American, and she is most definitely a surprise favorite in Baggage Claim.\u00a0 You haven\u2019t seen this side of her before. Her scene made me \u2018hole meh belly an laugh\u2019!<\/p>\n

\"Affion<\/p>\n

Affion Crockett\u2019s<\/strong> mom is apparently West Indian.\u00a0 We don\u2019t know from where, but he uses her accent in his comedy sketches.\u00a0 I\u2019m not mad at him \u2013 we all use it from time to time to illustrate a point.\u00a0 But where are you from Affion? Wave your flag! He had me rolling in Baggage Claim as Cedric, your friendly feeler at the security checkpoint. Djimon Hounsou<\/strong> portrays potential game changer, Quinton Jamison.\u00a0 He was born in Benin, and spent his teen years in France.<\/span><\/p>\n

Boris Kodjoe<\/strong> was born in Austria.\u00a0 His father is from Ghana, mother is from Germany. The model turned actor plays Graham in Baggage Claim.<\/p>\n

Now what you come to this website for!<\/p>\n

Did it earn the PG-13 Rating?<\/strong> Yep. Lots of innuendo, a few sexual situations, and definitely adult subject matter. I wouldn\u2019t freak out if my teen saw it, but I\u2019m not taking him \u2013 or giving him permission to go see it.<\/p>\n

Bottom line. Should you go see it?<\/strong> I think so \u2013 it was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed seeing the actors play familiar and unfamiliar roles.\u00a0 For my full review, click here to go to EvaLoves.com.<\/a><\/p>\n

Should I take the kids to see it? <\/strong>I wouldn\u2019t, but I am noticing these days that parents are exposing their kids to a lot more adult entertainment earlier.\u00a0 It is about a woman in her thirties who wants to be married. I\u2019m not too sure what a kid would get out of it, since they don\u2019t have any life experiences to make seeing someone in that situation mean something to them. It is definitely not a family movie night type of movie.<\/p>\n
