Hectic. <\/strong> That is the only way that I can describe this fall so far. \u00a0I know – fall JUST got here – but I haven’t stopped moving. \u00a0In a couple weeks we lose an hour to daylight savings time, don’t we? <\/strong> I think we do. \u00a0I don’t know about you, but I need a break. Tonight at 7, at the E Street Cinema in downtown DC, I’ll be taking that break and checking out an advance screening of the movie ROOM, based on the best selling book by Emma Donoghue. Guess what… I’m taking you with me! That’s right – we both get a break.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ROOM tells the extraordinary story of Jack (Jacob Tremblay in a breakout performance), a spirited 5 year-old who is looked after by his loving and devoted Ma (Brie Larson, SHORT TERM 12, TRAINWRECK). Like any good mother, Ma dedicates herself to keeping Jack happy and safe, nurturing him with warmth and love and doing typical things like playing games and telling stories. Their life, however, is anything but typical\u2014they are trapped\u2014confined to a windowless, 10-by-10-foot space, which Ma has euphemistically named \u201cRoom.\u201d Ma has created a whole universe for Jack within Room, and she will stop at nothing to ensure that, even in this treacherous environment, Jack is able to live a complete and fulfilling life.
