Caribbean Children’s Books: Reading List for Caribbean (and all) Children

Stir It Up by Ramin GaneshramI visit sites around the web from time to time, and a while back, I came across Anansesem.  I recently requested a reading list for Caribbean American (and all) kids from Summer Edward, editor of Anansesem – a Caribbean ezine for and by Caribbean Children, and she sent me to this link on her website: http://www.anansesem.com/p/reading-lists.html

I don’t know how often this is updated, but if you get through all of these, feel free to check back on the list to see if there are any new additions.  Also check out her interview with author Ramin Ganeshram.  She has written Stir It Up, a book about a Trinidadian-American teen, that one isn’t on the list yet.  In the interview, Ramin Ganeshram suggests another book with a Dominican-American tween as the protagonist by Trinidadian writer Lynn Joseph,The Color of My Words.
