Dominica’s 16th World Creole Music Festival is taking place on October 26-28, 2012, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium (WPSS) at Bath Road in Roseau, Dominica. Barbados’s leading soca band Krosfyah and Edwin Yearwood will be among the line-up. With the subtitle “Mizik A Nou!” [Our Music], the World Creole Music Festival offers a musical feast to usher in Independence celebrations on November 3, which will be dedicated to the memory of the late Jeff Joseph, a cadence-lypso icon who passed away December 2011.
Krosfyah appears on Saturday 27th October, and is expected to bring their “ultimate party” influence to the many fans and patrons of the event. Known for their infectious melodies, high-energy performances and pulsating rhythms that speak a language only one’s hips comprehend, Krosfyah reinvented soca as we know it. They are sure to keep patrons dancing all through their performance while joining them in singing along to their many popular hit songs including “Pump me Up”, “Wet Me”, “Highway Robbery”, “Ride It”, ‘French Kiss”, “Sak Pase” and “Yardie Graduate”. Two decades of great Soca and Caribbean music played across the region and internationally Krosfyah is set to light up the festival stage.
[. . .] The Krosfyah phenomenon as we know it will explode on stage and is sure to cause more traffic and people jam as they have done on previous occasions in Dominica. Patrons are therefore being urged to get to the stadium on time and to be prepared for a major soca feast.
