As I was leaving high school and entering college, STOMP was making waves. Now in it’s 25th year, it is still shaking up and waking up audiences all over the world. STOMP will be marching, tapping, and banging its way into Washington, DC’s National Theatre on Tuesday, April 23rd through the 28th, and you have a chance to be there on opening night!
About the show: STOMP is explosive, provocative, sophisticated, utterly unique and appeals to audiences of all ages. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. As USA Today says, “STOMP finds beautiful noises in the strangest places.” See what all the noise is about.
Run time: Approximately 95 minutes with no intermission. Children under the age of four are not permitted to attend the show.

I’m not that musical, but if I were in STOMP, i’d use a tin can and marker to make music.
A Broom would make a great instrument!
I’d use my body to move fluidly with every beat. Then I’d add finger snaps. Then I’d like do high steps and stomp my feet as I finger popped and moved my entire body.
cheese grater
I think I could get pretty musical with my new frying pan. Has a nice ring to it.
