It isn’t unusual for parents to get divorced these days, but to say that you could feel your parents love even more so once they aren’t together is unusual indeed.
Tonight, the challenge for the contestants on NBC’s the Voice, a prime time singing competition, was to choose a song as a dedication to someone special. Tessanne chose to dedicate Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally” to her parents.
Tessanne’s father was in the audience. She has been very vocal about how supportive her family has been, and tonight, when she dedicated her performance to her parents, she looked straight into the camera and told us how much love she felt from her parents, even though they weren’t together.
I can only imagine how those few minutes touched parents and children alike who are unsure of how life will be after divorce. This dedication was her testimony that it will be okay, and that under the right circumstances, and with enough love – it can still be great.
In this her second performance of the night, she really out did herself – if that’s possible. Make sure to call in and vote for Jamaica’s Tessanne Chin!
She made it to the top six – let’s show the power of the Caribbean community and take her all the way!
