You Take the Good, You Take the Not So Good: Joss and Main

I was pretty excited today – so excited I tweeted.

Yea… I was really looking forward to opening THIS box.

I have only purchased ceramic items to be delivered by mail one time – our mugs for the team. There were 72 mugs, and not one was broken. When we were waiting for them, I was the one worrying that none would make it. Once they arrived safe and sound, oddly enough, I wasn’t nervous about getting glass or ceramics in the mail anymore.

As a happily awaited my box of tea pots, pitchers, and sugar bowls, I didn’t think twice about them not making it “alive”.

Things started off so pretty! But then…

I got this.

Not this…

We have this.

And most unbelievable – instead of this…

This?

Really...

Well, after such a bad packing job (and it really was bad), I figured that the customer service would be just as shabby. Not so!

I had just opened up one tea pot when I called, and the representative patiently waited for me to open each and every item and check them for problems. He went over the broken items once again, let me know that there are no items available to replace them, but he could issue me a refund for the damaged items.

I asked about returning the broken ones, and he said that I could just dispose of them – which I did.

So will I order from them again? Absolutely. Glass or anything breakable? Probably not… not unless the prices are as great as they were for these.  Then I’ll take my chances.

When I do my post about with my next tea party, you will see the polka dotted fabulousness that survived the packing and shipping… I was waiting to add the Joss and Main banner to my sidebar to see how my experience was.  The prices were great, the packing job… really bad, and the customer service was awesome.

Bottom line, I actually recommend Joss and Main.  Good customer service is so rare – they definitely got that right.

Still smiling,
