Socamom’s Caribbean Travel Guide: Start with Caribbean Tourism Authorities to Plan Your Trip

joomplu:108The summer travel season is coming to a close, but there’s still time to check out some of the last minute specials on flights to the Caribbean so that the children can experience the culture first hand.

Where do you start? After you have your passports in hand, head over to travel.state.gov for country specific travel information including safety, visa, and other helpful tips.  If you haven’t already chosen a destination, check out the tourism board’s consumer websites to see what activities, history, and natural wonders for each island may interest you and your family.  Here is a quick guide to Caribbean tourism authority websites – it’s a good place to start. There are links to the educational resources, printables, and activity sheets on this website for each island next to the tourism authority and tourism board links, that way you can get the kids (and yourself) excited about your trip with some fun activities.

I have visited each and every one of these websites, and found them to be up to date, modern, colorful, informative, easy to navigate, and with gorgeous photographs. Be sure join the mailing list for updates and new information.
